Programmes - Primary Education

Education is a basic right of every child. It is also an indispensable strategy for development since it makes self reliant and thereby the protagonists of their own development.

Convinced about this fundamental importance of education, DBDS through its partner organizations implements primary education programmes, for children living in rural areas as well as for children living in urban slums. The objective of the programme is: To ensure high quality universal primary education in target areas.

This programme is presently being implemented in the rural areas of Chhota Udepur, Kawant and Narukot in Gujarat, and Alirajpur in Madhya Pradesh. In urban areas, it is being implemented in Baroda and Mumbai. A total of 60 centres are presently operational catering to over 2000 children.
